1. Purpose and Scope

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the following services (collectively, the "Services") provided by the MinisTool operator (the "Operator"), and set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users and the Operator.

• MinisTool Web (web.ministool.com)
• MinisTool Desktop information and distribution page (desktop.ministool.com) and the Windows desktop application
• MarkupViewMini (mdvm.ministool.com)

Matters not covered by these Terms are governed by applicable law and common practice. Where a provision applies only to a specific service, its scope is stated within that provision.

2. Definitions

• User: any person who uses the Services under these Terms.
• Local data: data stored in your browser storage or in files on your device, which is not transmitted to the Operator's servers.
• Drive Sync: an optional feature of MinisTool Desktop, activated only by the user's own choice, that backs up and synchronizes the favorites list to the user's own Google Drive.
• appDataFolder: the per-application hidden storage area provided by Google Drive, which is not accessible to other applications.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

• There is no MinisTool account. The Operator does not run any membership, login, or identity verification system.
• Core features are available without any sign-up or login.
• Drive Sync, an optional feature, requires authorization with your own Google account. This is not the creation of a MinisTool account, but a delegation of access to your own Google Drive storage area.
• You must use Drive Sync only with a Google account that you own or are authorized to use.

4. Provision, Modification, and Suspension of the Services

• The Operator may modify the content, features, and interface of the Services as operationally or technically necessary.
• The Operator may modify or discontinue all or part of the Services for good cause, and will endeavor to give advance notice of material changes or discontinuation on this page or within the Services.
• Provision of the Services may be temporarily suspended for reasons beyond the Operator's control, such as maintenance, network failures, or policy changes or outages of external platforms (e.g., Google, Microsoft Store).
• For the desktop application, continued usability of an already-installed version may depend on that version's behavior and on the status of the external services it integrates with.

5. User Obligations

You must not:

• violate applicable law or infringe the rights of others (intellectual property, personal information, etc.);
• interfere with the normal operation of the Services, or access them or generate load in abnormal ways;
• reverse-engineer or modify the Services or application and redistribute them, or redistribute them in a way that impersonates or creates confusion with the Operator;
• use Drive Sync with another person's Google account without authorization;
• register execution paths or arguments containing malicious code in favorites and distribute them to third parties.

6. User Content and Intellectual Property

• You retain all rights to your content — text, images, Markdown documents, favorite entries, and anything else you create, edit, or open in the Services. The Operator claims no ownership over it.
• The Operator does not store or access your content on its servers. Even when Drive Sync is used, backup data is stored in your own Google Drive and does not pass through the Operator's servers (see Section 8).
• Rights in the name, logo, design, and software of the Services belong to the Operator or the respective rights holders.
• Third-party open-source components included in the Services are governed by their respective licenses.

7. Third-Party Services and Distribution Channels

• MinisTool Desktop may be distributed through the Microsoft Store and as a portable build; use of those channels is also subject to the terms of the respective providers.
• Drive Sync is additionally subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
• The Operator has no control over the availability, policy changes, or outages of third-party services.

8. MinisTool Desktop – Google Drive Sync

This section applies only to Google Drive Sync, an optional feature of MinisTool Desktop. It does not apply to MinisTool Web, MarkupViewMini, or use of the website.

8.1 Nature of the Feature

• Drive Sync is optional. Google authorization is initiated only when you explicitly choose "Connect Google Drive" in the app.
• MinisTool Desktop's core local features remain fully usable without Drive Sync.
• The purpose of this feature is to back up and synchronize your favorites list to your own Google Drive. It is not used for account registration or for collecting user profiles.

8.2 Requested Scope

MinisTool Desktop requests exactly one scope:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata

• The openid, email, and profile scopes are not requested.
• Full Google Drive access is not requested.
• The app does not read or store your Google account name, email address, or profile picture.

8.3 Storage Area Accessed

• Only the MinisTool-specific hidden storage area (appDataFolder) in your Google Drive is used.
• There is no functionality to read or modify your regular Drive documents, photos, or folders.

8.4 What Is and Is Not Synchronized

Please note: The text and paths you enter into favorites may contain personal information. You decide what to register as a favorite and back up, and you are responsible for that content.

8.5 Transmission and Storage

• Drive Sync communicates directly from your PC to Google. Favorites and authorization tokens are not stored on or routed through any server operated by the Operator.
• Authorization tokens are stored on your PC, encrypted in a manner tied to your Windows user account.
• The app never receives or stores your Google password.
• Disclosure: No separate end-to-end encryption (E2EE) is implemented for the favorites backup itself. Backup data is protected at the level provided by Google Drive.

8.6 Disconnecting and Deleting Data

These actions have different scopes. Please review the following before using them.

Notice regarding retention of backup versions: Previous sync versions are currently not deleted automatically. The current version has a technical limit on the number of history entries it will list and process (5,000); if that limit is exceeded, syncing may stop. This is different from a retention policy that automatically deletes older versions. A history cleanup feature may be provided separately in the future.

Notice regarding deletion scope: "Deleting app data" in the table above deletes the cloud backup stored in Google Drive. It does not delete the local favorites and local data on each PC, so it is distinct from "complete deletion of all data." Local data must be deleted on each PC directly.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

• The Services are provided "as is". The Operator does not warrant fitness for a particular purpose, integrity, or uninterrupted availability.
• The Operator does not warrant that Drive Sync will always succeed or that full recovery from a backup is guaranteed. Please maintain independent backups of important data.
• You are responsible for the results of executing any paths or launch arguments you register in favorites.

10. Limitation of Liability

• The Operator is not liable for damages arising from causes beyond its control, such as force majeure, network failures, or outages or policy changes of third-party services.
• The Operator is not liable for damages arising from your device environment, configuration errors, or conflicts with third-party programs.
• Nothing in this section excludes or limits any liability of the Operator that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

The Operator may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. Changes and their effective date will be posted on this page, and the Operator will endeavor to give notice before the effective date for material changes that are disadvantageous to users. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• These Terms and your use of the Services are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
• In the event of a dispute, the Operator and the user will negotiate in good faith toward an amicable resolution.
• For disputes not resolved through negotiation, jurisdiction is determined in accordance with applicable law, including the Korean Civil Procedure Act. These Terms do not designate any court as having exclusive jurisdiction.
• If you are a consumer residing outside the Republic of Korea, this section does not deprive you of the protections guaranteed by the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
