1. Overview and Separation of Processing Contexts

This Privacy Policy applies to the MinisTool website, MinisTool Web, MinisTool Desktop, and MarkupViewMini (collectively, the "Services") provided by the MinisTool operator (the "Operator").

Because responsibilities and scope differ depending on where information is processed, this policy distinguishes the following three contexts.

2. Information Processed by the Operator

2.1 Website Use

• The website has no sign-up, login, or contact form that collects personal information directly.
• The Operator has not installed any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or behavioral tracking scripts in the Services.
• Hosting and access logs: All four sites below are served on the hosting environment of Vercel Inc. (Hobby plan):
  • www.ministool.com (MinisTool website)
  • web.ministool.com (MinisTool Web)
  • desktop.ministool.com (MinisTool Desktop information and distribution page)
  • mdvm.ministool.com (MarkupViewMini)
  A visitor's IP address is used in the course of serving a request, and Vercel generates records such as request time, request path, HTTP status code, host name, browser information (User-Agent), and processing region for service delivery, security, and incident response. On the Hobby plan, runtime logs available to the Operator are retained for one hour, and the Operator does not separately download, store, or use them for any other purpose. Any other records Vercel retains on its own are governed by Vercel's policies. See the Vercel Privacy Policy for details.

2.2 Application Use

• The Operator does not collect usage statistics, telemetry, or crash reports from MinisTool Desktop, MinisTool Web, or MarkupViewMini.
• The Operator does not store or access your work content (documents, text, images, favorites, etc.) on its servers.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The following is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to the Operator.

• Language preference (ministool_lang) — shared across the website and web tools
• Per-tool state and settings — color lists, image editor settings, Markdown table content, recently used symbols, and similar data stored in browser localStorage
• Desktop app settings and favorites — stored in local configuration files

You can delete this information yourself by clearing site data in your browser, or by resetting or uninstalling the app.

4. Processing by Service

In this policy, the description of Drive Sync applies only to that feature of MinisTool Desktop and does not apply to MinisTool Web or MarkupViewMini.

5. MinisTool Desktop – Google Drive Sync (Optional)

5.1 Purpose

• Google authorization is not used for account registration or user profile collection.
• Its sole purpose is to back up and synchronize your favorites list to your own Google Drive.
• There is no separate MinisTool account, and core local features work without any login.
• Google authorization is initiated only when you explicitly choose "Connect Google Drive" in the app.

5.2 Requested Scope

Exactly one scope is requested:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata

• The openid, email, and profile scopes are not requested.
• Full Google Drive access is not requested.
• The app does not read or store your Google account name, email address, or profile picture.

5.3 Storage Area Accessed

• Only the MinisTool-specific hidden storage area (appDataFolder) in your Google Drive is used.
• There is no functionality to browse your regular Drive documents, photos, or folders.

5.4 Information Synchronized

• Favorite names
• Text you entered
• URLs
• Shared execution paths
• Application identifiers and launch arguments
• Tags, shortcuts, and item order
• Custom icons
• Sync version-management information

Notice: The text and paths you enter may contain personal information. You decide what to register as a favorite and back up.

5.5 Information Not Synchronized

• The executable files themselves and the linked document files themselves — these are not uploaded.
• Per-PC path mapping information
• Authorization tokens

5.6 Transmission and Storage

• Sync communicates directly from your PC to Google. Favorites and authorization tokens are not stored on or routed through any server operated by the Operator.
• Authorization tokens are stored on your PC, encrypted in a manner tied to your Windows user account.
• The app never receives or stores your Google password.
• Notice: No separate end-to-end encryption (E2EE) is implemented for the favorites backup itself. Backup data is protected at the level provided by Google Drive.

5.7 Third-Party Disclosure

• The Operator does not share or sell data processed by Drive Sync to third parties — the Operator does not hold that data in the first place.
• The data is stored in your own Google account, which is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• MinisTool's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
• This data is not used for targeted advertising, sold to data brokers, used for creditworthiness determinations, or used to train generalized AI/ML models.

5.8 Retention and Deletion

These actions have different scopes. Please review the table below.

Notice regarding retention: Previous sync versions are currently not deleted automatically. The current version has a technical limit on the number of history entries it will list and process (5,000); if that limit is exceeded, syncing may stop. This is different from a retention policy that automatically deletes older versions. A history cleanup feature may be provided separately in the future.

Notice regarding deletion scope: "Deleting app data" in the table above deletes the cloud backup stored in Google Drive. It does not delete the local favorites and local data on each PC, so it is distinct from "complete deletion of all data." Local data must be deleted on each PC directly (see Section 3).

5.9 Summary of Your Controls

• You may choose not to use Drive Sync; core features are unaffected.
• You may disconnect in the app at any time.
• You may revoke access from your Google account at any time.
• You may delete app data (the cloud backup) from Google Drive settings.
• Local data on each PC must be deleted on that PC directly.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

• The Operator does not use cookies or trackers for marketing, ad targeting, or behavioral analytics.
• The Services use browser localStorage to save preferences. This is stored only on your device.

7. International Transfers

If you use Drive Sync, data is stored in your own Google account and may be processed on Google's global infrastructure. This occurs only if you choose to connect Drive.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services have no sign-up process and do not collect users' age information. The Operator has not currently set a minimum age for use of the Services, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a minimum age is established in the future, it will be announced on this page.

Because Drive Sync uses a Google account, Google's own account age requirements apply separately.

9. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. However, because the Operator does not retain information that identifies you, most data can be deleted directly by you on your device or in your Google account settings (see Sections 3 and 5.8). 11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law or in the Services. Any changes will be posted on this page together with the effective date.
